The purpose of this series of guides is to introduce you to the features and mechanics of modules and crafting in Golem Overlord. This is the sixth post of the series and will focus on crafting.
If you are not familiar with the basics of modules, the Pyrite Forge, Forge Sigils, and crafting I recommend reading the previous posts in this series before reading this post.
The Golem Overlord Module Guide Curated Collection also has links to all related posts in this guide. You can view it as a curated collection or as a post. I will continue adding post links to that collection as they are completed.
In the previous two crafting posts, I showed use cases for Void Stones, Smelter's Trinity, and adding quality. I was able to turn a blue Superior Amplifier (precious) with two stats into a yellow Omega Amplifier (invaluable) with four stats using void stones and the Smelter's Trinity.
For this part of the crafting guide, I want to try some of the Transmutative Orb Forge Sigils on this ultra amplifier. It only has three stats of a possible four, and the medium stats are good but not necessarily the best.
It would be nice to get a medium stat in Claim Multiplier, Energy CD Reduction, or Power, and somehow get a fourth stat on this module.
Here is a chart showing the pyrite cost for crafting modules of different rarities with different types of Forge Sigils.
I will start by trying to improve one of the medium stats with a precious Transmutative Orb, hoping to get a Claim Multiplier, Energy CD Reduction, or Power.
Either of these orbs will work. Since this is an Ultra Amplifier, I'll use the lower rarity blue precious orb and save the better ones for possible use with the Omega Amplifier.
To use the orb I've done these steps:
Here are the results. As you can see the module got worse because the Transmutative Orb removed a medium stat and added a small stat. I'll try another one and see if it improves the results.
This was a better result as it removed a small stat and added back a medium stat. The 4% claim cooldown reduction is an interesting stat that could be valuable but I want to go for a stronger stat.
Again we lost a medium stat and gained a small stat with a +1 background slot. I at least want to end with two medium stats so I will try another orb.
This time I'm trying an exceptional orb, which removes a random and adds a random stat. Because this module cannot hold big stats, the exceptional orb should do the same thing as the precious orb. If this were used on an Omega or Quantum amplifier it would have the chance to add a big stat.
This time the orb removed the +4 power and added a small relic radar stat. I'm going to try a fifth time for a better second medium stat.
These are the worst results yet, now the module has all small stats and no medium stats. I didn't realize you could get 3 small stats until trying this. Yixn confirmed that you could potentially end up with all four small stats on an ultra amplifier. The yellow and green dots only indicate the maximum stats possible.
I tried two more exceptional orbs and continued rolling small stats, here are the results.
I wanted to try using an invaluable Transmutative Orb to remove a small stat and potentially add a medium stat. What I discovered is that you cannot use Forge Sigil to remove "not a strongest" stat if all available stats are small. You can see the error message given "No modifier to remove" in the screenshot below when I attempted to use the orb.
If I had known this in advance, I think it would have been better to try the invaluable Transmutative Orb when the module got down to one medium and two small stats. That way I would be guaranteed a small stat gets removed and in the worst case, it gets another small stat added back.
Now that I've made the Ultra Amplifier much worse, going from two medium and one small stat to three small stats, I'm going to stop crafting and rethink my strategy. I've purchased a second Pinnacle Blacksmith's Claim Pass for 2,500 SHARD tokens, which will give me several more Forge Sigils that I could use.
In the next post, Golem Overlord Module Guide: Quality, I have created a detailed guide on adding quality to modules. I show each step of upgrading an Omega Amplifier from quality -3 up to +5 with a comparison of how each quality level increases the stats.
