2018 isn't turning out to be the year of parabolic movements that we all hoped for. If 2017 was the year of often unjustified parabolic movements, based largely on hype, then surely 2018 shows the market is starting to mature.
I see similarities in certain speculative stocks and shares I hold such as Sirius minerals. When I initially invested I understood that I was buying into the IDEA of a mining giant that at the time of my investment had not even placed a spade in the ground. However, they had a strategy in place to fund the project, develop the transportation links around the site and gain access to to huge foreign markets. Of course I have had some troubling moments because such a share can be volatile but I see this as a long term investment so pay little attention to it.
So back to crypto's. Ask yourself this, are you in it for the long run? If so, I suggest you look at 2017 for what it was, a mania that lots of people made money on. 2018 on the other hand, is surely the year of buying and holding on to good projects that have a chance at market dominance in their area.
I am breaking my overly spread portfolio into sections. I will hold no more than 3 crypto's in each:
Store of value
Internet of Things
Privacy/Security
Platforms
Usable Interative Tokens
Moonshot out there ( I'll only hold 2 coins here)
