Chapter 2
1 Thus the heavens and the earth, and all the host of them (Their inhabitants), were finished. (including man) 2 And on the seventh day God ended His work which He had done, and He rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had done.
...I like to think that God completed it by just resting in it… By relationship with it)... (Talk about QUALITY TIME)... Think about that... He completes us... By being with us. It's how you were created... What you were created to be completed by!
3 Then God blessed the seventh day and sanctified it... (Sanctified means He set it apart... as HOLY) Holy means WHOLE... Whole in terms of being complete. This is what Holiness is about.
… Somehow I like to think that “what was very good” (The Sabbath)... Was made PERFECT... because in it He rested from all His work...
...As if this event (The 7th Day) is what gave off THE GLOW of it all… (Like a lamp... Giving Light and Warmth)... (Like when a computer gets set up, plugged in and software is installed for gaming. When it begins it gives off the experience... A virtual universe is created that a player is interfaced with) it gave off something like a lamp dies warmth and light.
... WHEN EVERYTHING COMES TOGETHER...
(Did you know???)… At the time before the Law was given to Moses… No culture had ever taken a day off of work...
… In Agricultural/Farming based Societies… This would’ve been unthinkable... (“Can’t afford to do that !!!”)...
… But here in the very beginning of time… We see the institution of the Sabbath… (God’s formula still works… If we will discover it)...
… (Just like LOVE will subdue the earth)… Taking a day off???... It will feel like a great sacrifice)... BUT THERE IS LIFE INFUSED in it’s DISCOVERY)... (This mystery alone is a treasure map to life)...
...In fact???… You can’t afford not to...
… “But I don’t need a Sabbath... because I’m not tired”... (You might be thinking that)…
… God wasn’t tired either... (What He was saying was ???)... “I’m your Father, and here’s a key you must understand to navigate life successfully and keep the wheels on: Shut it down one day in seven”...
… “But I can get ahead... If I just do a little bit of work on the seventh day.”...
… If you don’t discover the Sabbath rest... (If you ignore it)... It will catch up with you either mentally, emotionally, physically, or spiritually… (Marriage, kids, circumstance will overwhelm)...
… You’ll be all confused about the mess… When the key is simply given right here…
… A lot of folks will see a psychiatrist (And take a pill)… ...Before simply discovering a Sabbath... (Balance, relationship)… (The cure to being ADD, Attention Deficit Disorder ???... Maybe)...
… Discover this ???... “that because God rested on the seventh day, we get to as well”... And that's cool!!!...
