Hello everyone, welcome to my blog.
It's been a really overwhelming week, full of routine, fleeting things, and a lot of stress. Honestly, it took everything I had to get through the week, and because of that, I decided to go to the Sambil shopping center to clear my head.
I went with the sole purpose of eating a hamburger and reading poetry with my headphones on until it was dark enough to go home. It turned out that I didn't realize we live on an island where everyone knows each other, and that I would therefore run into many classmates and friends at the mall. An example of this was my high school classmate, who also went to the mall with the idea of eating and forgetting about her routine for a while, so we decided to keep each other company by window shopping at a few stores.
Between stores, we observed a small crowd of children with devilishly painted faces lining up for some kind of strange cult that worshipped a species of frog dressed as a gringo boy scout. From a distance it looked strange, but up close it was a harmless activity, because even though the children had animals such as butterflies and spiders painted on their faces, it was a brand of cold paints promoting its products in collaboration with Mundo Escolar stores.
The problem with my adventure companion yesterday, apart from being pretty and knowing how to take advantage of it, is that she is very childish. At some point, I lost sight of her, and then I found her lining up to have her face painted too... And I, as her adventure companion, had no choice but to give in to social pressure and join the line as well.
Obviously, I first asked the event staff what the age limit was for participating, and after looking at me strangely, they said that everyone could have their face painted, but that we wouldn't get any candy. And so we got back in line. Valentina wanted to have a butterfly painted on her face, and I thought long and hard about what I wanted, so when it was my turn to have my face painted, the girl painting asked me if I wanted a little heart or a spider, to which I replied, "No, okay. I'm a serious guy, better make me something that scares kids." "Like what?" "Like a villain's mustache."
And that's how ulisini villanini was born.
I admit it was a moment of uncontrolled childishness. But I enjoyed it. Valentina became a treacherous butterfly and I became an eccentric man with a mustache. And of course we took lots of pictures with the boy scout frog. We brought so much energy to the activity that they didn't even give us a piece of candy, which I considered unfair and complained about, and thanks to that, we got some pretty cute balloons celebrating Halloween.
After all, I managed to clear my head a little, and I had the joy of celebrating such a reunion. I will definitely never be too old to stop painting my face with watercolors. I urge you to break free from your routine every Lent and not let your inner child die.
Thank you all very much for reading and sharing. Until next time.
