1• Do you like animals? Why or why not?
Sure, I really love animals because they have become part of us and I believe that we human relied on them when it comes some aspects or activities. Animals are so amazing and I can't stop loving them because because they are part of our daily life already.
2• Do you have or have you ever had a pet?
Yeah! I once had a pet, a cat 🐈 pet to be precise. Cat are really amazing small creatures with wonderful characters. They are good friends and companions and there presence never make one bored because they are lively. I am so sad to lost my cat pet at the start of the year. I lost the cat to death after little illness. But I still have dog.
3• Are animals respected or looked down upon in your culture?
Animals are well respected in my culture and the coat of arms symbol of my country which is Nigeria is a prove to that. The animals on the symbol of Nigeria comprises of a eagle and two horse 🐎. The eagle signify strength and while the horse 🐎 represent dignity. And as a matter of fact, there are so many tribe in my country but I belong to one the most popular tribe which is Yoruba. Yoruba people have a great respect for animals and that is the reason why they even sometimes named them after person's name to show how much they love animals.
4• What wild animals can be found where you live (or in your hometown)?
Presently where I lived, a wild animals that only could come to my mind is a dog because dogs can be so mean and so frustrating sometimes and also a turkey birds. I remember the last time my brother was chased by a turkey birds. It was so funny and at the same time looks awkwardly because that is the first time am witnessing such.
5• Are any animals considered good luck or bad luck in your culture?
To think of it, sure, there are two aquatic animals that they are represent good luck and bad luck in my culture which is Yoruba. And the two animals are fish and crab 🦀. The fish which is called EJA in Yoruba represent bad luck and the crab which means AkAN in Yoruba language represent a sign of good luck.
6• Do any animals have a specific meaning in your culture?
There are many animals which have specific meaning but I would just mention some of them. Horse means a sign of royalty in my culture, while dogs can be a pet or for security purposes.
7• What animal do you feel most attracted or connected to?
In a personal aspect, I love all animals except pigs. But I am mostly attracted to fowls because I love birds and have almost nine of them including my two turkey birds that I am raising and they have become part of my daily life and I really love to be around them. Apart from fowls, I also feel attracted to cat and dog as they are the pet I really love.
8• What’s the most beautiful relationship you’ve seen between a human and an animal?
The most beautiful relationship I have seen human and an animal is from a friend. He love to eat dogs meat but he would dare never thought of killing his dog that he is been raising for more than 10 years and I can understand his love for the dog. Even despite the fact that he love to take dog meat, he couldn't kill the dog when it was in the glimpse of death and the dog later died. He even cried so much that we have to console him.
9• What was your best experience with an animal?
An experience I had with a dog that I don't want to forget is the one I had with my dog later turn to my uncle dog. I brought the dog in as a puppy and I traveled after a year. I asked about the dog on phone any time I called him. When I returned back Bingo has already grown up but what surprised is they the dog still remember me and follow around. It is from that situation I thought on how trustworthy animals can be. Their love is always real once the do.
Animals has become a very important part of human life and we really depends on animals to strive and maintain and continue our ways of life and for that reason I can't love animals less.
