India could be homophobic, with their society reacting unfavorably to the disadvantage of those falling in love with the same gender. Knowing that, can you picture their men holding hands in public? Never say never. In fact, that's what they do with their best friends, as opposed to romantic partners. It comes naturally to the people – to hold hands with friends.

In the West, however, the practice of holding hands could have a wildly different connotation altogether?

British photographer Vincent Dolman spotted the gesture on a visit to India and found it to be delightfully unconventional.

The photographer captured around 15 images, of men holding hands freely all in public with their best friends.
