Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) candidate for East Delhi Lok Sabha, Atishi Marlena, has dropped 'Marlena' from her name on Twitter handle. Thanks to the rumors that she's a Christian.
Their rival political party seems to have started the rumor in an attempt to frighten the voters away from voting for her.
According to sources, their political party gave name issue a due thought and ultimately requested her to drop the Christian-sounding 'Marlena'.
On Twitter, the name has already been changed. On the website, the change will be reflected very soon. They can't take any chances.
In India, voting is done on the basis of caste, religion, ethnicity.
