That is incorrect, you are anonymous at the time of account creation. They used a 3rd party service that just checked to see if a phone number was active. Steem or Hive do not have anyone's phone number

Back in the beginning days of Steem it was like that a lot. Now that it's 50/50 rewards people just follow an active curation trail, don't post or comment ever, and earn money for doing nothing. Proof
