Holographic Entertainment- The Future for Education and Entertainment

Holograms are a futuristic technology that is ever-present in science fiction films and stories. As a child, seeing Star Wars was an eye-opening experience for me, and other films and stories presented holographic projections. The first holograms were created in 1967 with the advent of the laser, and new holographic techniques are being used to create 3D projected moving images.
What is a hologram or a holographic image? A hologram is a 3D image that is captured by lasers. Once the image of the 3D object is captured, it can be projected into space. A hologram can be etched onto photographic paper using lasers or even projected into space using lasers and computer models that emulate the movement of the subject.
Augmented realty and virtual reality technology are currently hosting concerts and other entertainment events, and will continue to do so. The Metaverse is an environment that is extremely contusive to all sorts of visual marvels, but nothing beats an in-person concert with holographic performers. We can also replicate historical events using holographic performers. A 3D Tupac hologram performed at the Coachella music festival in 2014, and the technology has progressed since then. Light Field Lab has recently created SolidLight objects that are true holographic images. The appeal of holographic images is that we see in 3D, and 2D images themselves can be limiting. If we want to experience high-level projected performances, this futuristic technology is where it’s at.
Holographic performers and augmented reality that includes holograms is an amazing new feat. The hologram is a relatively new technology that has been in existence for less than 60-years. Holograms that are printed on paper and projected into space have dazzled audiences, and will continue to do so as the technology matures. SolidLight looks like a solid technology, and given the state of the market for this and other visually dazzling technology we may see amazing things in the near future.
