The building of this Monastery started in the 14th century. Recently it has been renovated a bit.
You have to buy a ticket to get inside. There are a lot of text and stories you can read from the stands.
But just looking at this huge building is a thing on it's own.
Thinking how they built it in the time so long ago. It's rare that it has remained in quite good state.
Of course not all are original parts from the 14th century, but still, it looks awesome.
You can also climb up from some steep staircase and take a look around in the tower.
From the tower you can also see the Padise Manor, which is really nice looking from the inside also.
It was built in 1770 as a single-storey building, later in 19th century the second floor was added.
I have also slept in some of the rooms there quite some nights during a film production.
10/10 would recommend.
Looking at the distance you can see the now quite famous Rummu Quarry hills.
All the Monastery is now shielded with a new roof so it could stay in good condition.
There are a lot of windows, doorways and passageways.
This is where the kitchen used to be.
Some basement room. There's a lot to see and read.
