I hope everyone is having a wonderful and powerful start to this new year—2026, the Year of the Horse! In this video, I am happyd to share a very special first experience with you all: my first-ever hiking adventure in the beautiful mountains of Banaybanay in the province of Davao Oriental. What makes this even more meaningful is that this is the very place where I was born and raised. I grew up surrounded by these stunning landscapes, yet the truth is, I had never actually gone hiking here in the Philippines before. This trip was my first time ever, and it felt like a homecoming in the most active and joyful way possible. I was joined by my wonderful younger sister and her co-worker, who is a teacher. We had such a fantastic time together, full of laughter, fresh air, and breathtaking views. The energy of the group was incredible. They are all in their vibrant 20s, and here I am at 42, keeping up and feeling completely rejuvenated by their spirit. It was a beautiful reminder that adventure and fun have no age limit! I am so grateful to have shared this experience with such beautiful people. We explored trails, enjoyed the lush greenery of the village, and created memories I will always cherish. A quick note: for this video, I am speaking in my heart language, Visaya, to share this story as authentically and warmly as I feel it. I hope you enjoy watching our little adventure.
