It's Crunch Time! GINGER CRUNCH time!
But then if you asked my youngest son he'd say...…….it's ALWAYS Ginger Crunch Time.
I made him some the other day and although I don't have a sweet tooth (generally speaking) I will admit to having a couple of slices as I was packing the finished treat into an air tight tin. All good cooks have to do a taste test don't they?
The truth is; I absolutely love the flavour of ginger and will very rarely turn down anything that features this special spice. I am also a great fan of ginger supplements for health benefits and make sure I always have a supply handy.
Here are the Ingredients:
Ginger Crunch Base:
225 grams plain flour
100 grams caster sugar
1 teaspoon baking powder
2 teaspoon ground ginger
150 grams butter cut into cubes
Ginger Crunch Icing:
150 grams butter
60 mls golden syrup 4 Tablespoons
300 grams icing sugar sifted
2 tablespoons ground ginger
METHOD:
1. Preheat oven to 180c.
There are many different recipes out there nowadays but this is the one I have used for many years and the fact that my 47 year old son still requests it, speaks for itself. He makes a pretty good ginger crunch himself but it's still not the same as having his mother make it for him. And of course, it brings me so much pleasure to take him back to happy childhood days via my cooking.
If you like ginger, why not try this recipe? I will warn you in advance that it is very sweet, so it pays to cut it up into small pieces.
THANK YOU FOR VIEWING. HAVE A GREAT DAY.
