I do enjoy planning birthday parties for my girls. My youngest knew exactly what she wanted and this Party was planned a few weeks prior to it happening. Yesterday was a beautiful sunny day, the perfect weather for an outdoor party.
Of course the food is really important when you're planning any party and even mire so when you are planning a kids party. My youngest wanted loads of strawberries and I didn't want to disappoint. Fruit sewkers are a favourite of ours and yesterday me and my eldest daughter, made grape banana and strawberry ones.
There was also melon, nuts, pickles, banana chips and some crisps. Plus, Hummus with carrots snd cucumber. I have always done, sugar free parties for my girls. Natural occurring sugars, are all that their bodies need. Anything else just puts their bodies out if balance.
So it's all about the fruit, I loved how excited the girls got when they saw this fruit platter, which was brought by one of the other mums, I mean I got pretty excited myself, cos it looks so darn good and tasted delicious. She actually brought two platters. The second one had mostly melon and pineapple. For some reason I didn't take a picture of that one, I think I was too busy eating it.
I've gotten asked before how I got my girls to eat fruit, this question really threw me, because they have always eaten fruit, its a huge part of our diet. Alongside the eating of fine food, was gift time. Which let's be honest, is usually, a child's favourite part of their birthday.
I love giving gifts and watching them being opened. This year I gifted my daughter a musical jewellery box, which has a ballerina inside of it. You can see it in the photo above off to one side. Last night I had to tell her to shut it, after she took it go bed with her and had the music going for quite a while. But I'm happy she loves it.
She got so many wonderful presents from her friends, a jigsaw, a kite, colouring pencils, two card games and lots to hair accessories which fitted nicely into her jewellery box.
Then it was game time. One of her sister's, with the help of two of her friends, created a treasure hunt. They spend the morning, making the clues and putting them in place. Then they helped them find them. One of the clues, was next to the compost, which you can see in the picture up above.
After that, it was time for musical statues. I loved to watch them all move to the music, which was a mixture of dance and gymnastics with lots of laughter mixed in. The whole day was full of laughter. Which is exactly how it should be.
I must say, I was pretty exhausted after it all, but it was a wonderful celebration of my wild girl. Who once again, had the best day ever.
