Today I visited a friend, we build a small altar on her land, next to a willow tree that she had planted for our Friend Colette. Colette passed away 3 years ago today and we wanted to celebrate her. To remember her, in all of her gory.

I have written about her a lot already on here, she too passed away from Cancer, just like my sister. She never done things in half, she really did put her all in to everything. This is really something we wanted to celebrate, her lust for life.

The plan, was to have no plan, to just see where the day took us, to just let things flow.

I got to my friends and we sat out and prepared some food. Our children playing in the background and us talking and singing. Two other friends then turned up, just as we had finished cooking, they also had brought some food. So we had a little feast.

Then we began to build the altar. We used rocks from the riverbed, laying some flat so that we could place a larger on on top. We all had some heart shaped stones, that we wanted to place on the top, along with some crystals.

Then we sang, songs that reminded us of Colette and helped to lift our spirits, all of us singing from the heart. From there we really began to play about, and before long we had all found objects to make music from. A chopping board, a bucket, a water container and a pipe.

We then proceeded to walk around the land and onto neighbouring land, playing and singing and drawing quite a large crowd of people, who cheered us as we went along. Really enjoying the spontaneity if the moment and how free we felt, whilst making this beautiful music in recognition of our friend.

She was the queen of spontaneity, so it really was the perfect way in which to celebrate her. We all felt her spirit with us and could easily image her next to us, helping to spread the joy.

And that is what it is all about, taking the time to have fun. To stop being so serious and just play. Be joyful and bring a smile to other people's faces. Reminding people what life is all about.

Like I always say, we are here to create, yet so many have forgotten that they are creators .So I am happily taking up this role to help them remember.
