Tensions rose yesterday, when I was once again accused of being inconsiderate and unsupportive. I live the way I do, so that I have my freedom, so that I choose how I spend my days. Of course these last few weeks have been testing and I along with everyone else was forced into quarantine.

But I get to decide who comes to my home, and I get to decide what is best for me and my girls. If someone feels like they are at risk of getting sick, then by all means you stay in your home and do what is best for you and yours, but do not tell me what I should be doing.

Yesterday I stood my ground and expressed how we all have to make our choices right now, and I have made mine. I live in a area where there is a wider community of people that I consider friends, that I consider family and those people are welcome to visit me if they so wish.

That is my choice.

So now I have made my own entrance to the land I live on, so that others can have their own space and live how they want to. I am not here to tell others what to do or think, I am happy to share my opinion for those who wish to listen, but I have no right to demand anything from anybody else.

I respect everyone's decisions and choices, I might not agree with them, but that is fine, because what we are seeing right now is a great divide and the best way in which we can move forward from this, is to let each other live as they wish.

Anything else really goes against what I believe in, as I said already, I have no right to tell anyone how they should live!

This event stuck with me well into the night and kept me awake into the wee hours. I tried to get some sleep and only managed once I wrote the following poem:

And so I wander,
Unable to bear the weight that falls upon me!
My thoughts run wild with a million different realities
And yet none bring me closer to you.

To let go
To surrender to the unknown
For what do I know of tomorrow
And Why should I seek the answers of what may be?

My head is weary,
Too much consumed
To allow my steps to be light footed,
Holding on
And for what?
A chance to have something,
Something that eases my way.

This is not who I am
This is not who I wish to become
So let me fumble
Let me fall amongst the thorns
so that I may feel
So that I may
Drink from the well.

Our ways
are being forced open
We finally glimpse
What lies in wait,
Stepping into the unknown
I give in and lose myself
I am ready to create

To shake off these shackles
And liberate
The side of me that wanted to please
That divided me
And brought me to my knees.

And so I wander,
Content with where I might end up,
I seek not to control
But Instead
to embrace
my freedom and roam!
