The key to prosperity is large scale collaboration. The key to large scale collaboration is trust. The key to trust is consistently ethical behavior. People tend to fixate on economies of scale and working together, so much so that they skip over building trust through ethics. Pursuing large scale collaboration through force rather than through trust undermines ethics, which sabotages trust, and eventually destroys prosperity.
