The Commodore 64 still gets new releases, such as Stoker. While the C64 was originally released in the early 1980’s, developers are still releasing games in 2021. Stoker is one such release. This is an action platform title featuring tons of animation and exploring.
There are over 10,000 pieces of commercial software released for the Commodore 64 computer. This includes games, productivity, and educational software, to name a couple genres.
Taking control of a dragon style character, you must jump around the levels to find the exit. What is interesting about Stoker is the animation and detail the developers have put into their game. Your dragon is extremely well animated and super detailed. The game world has shading and depth thanks to clever use of the limited color palette available.
All of this adds up to an interesting release for the venerable gaming computer. Things that back in the 80’s would have seemed impossible to pull off. Stoker looks like one of those titles that could have been a big seller had it been released in the 80’s.
According to Indie Retro News, the video above features the “Wizards Tower” level. What is shown is awesome looking and I will be back with more coverage on Stoker.
