MultiVersus Trailer Introduces New Characters

If you are unaware, there is an upcoming Smash Bros style game based around Warner Bros owned franchises. From DC Comics to Looney Tunes and many stand-alone movies, MultiVersus is bringing a ton of fan service with it. In the recent trailer they showed off two new characters to join Batman, Superman, Shaggy, Scooby Doo, and more.

Getting things right the first time

According to VG247.com Player First Games the developer behind MultiVersus, has worked with members of the fighting game community. This community involvement will hopefully transfer to a quality gaming experience when MultiVersus is released. Right now, there is no release date set in stone.

MultiVersus seems to be a tag team brawler, if the trailer is anything to go by. We see many odd combinations of characters teaming up which could mean predetermined teams (I hope not) or just signal fans can make their own teams (please…please).

Either way, tag team brawling in the style of Smash Bros is rather interesting to me. The fact that Player First Games are working with members of the community is a great sign as well.

Those new characters

In the trailer, embedded above, you can see Iron Giant and the Tazmanian Devil make their appearance. This is interesting for a couple of reasons. One, if they are going with predetermined teams then who is going to choose anyone other than Superman/Iron Giant? Also, if they are predetermined, Taz and Harley Quinn are quite an odd combination.

Are you excited for MultiVersus? If not, why not? I mean, you can have Shaggy fighting Batman then Taz interrupt only to be slammed by Iron Giant. Not to mention goodness only knows what other combinations.
