Blogging Challenge - Part 04 - Day 30
Prepare a mini dictionary of words or phrases from your country/city. Explain their meanings.
This is going to be very interesting, there are a lot of very strange Dominican words, but I will try to tell you the funniest ones.
Abombao: When a person has air in the stomach and feels bloated.
Acechar: It's like warch, but it's used in a gossipy way, like "I was acechando Maria" I was watching what she was doing without her noticing. Synonyms: stalker.
Ajumao: When a person is drunk. "I had a jumo" he drank a lot and was very drunk.
Añoñar: It's like to spoil a person. "I will añoñar you" when you go and give someone a hug or give them affection to make them feel better.
Palomo: This one is very difficult to explain, and has many meanings.
When a person passes up an opportunity they say "What a palomo" or "Palomiaste."
When a person does something bad to another, in the sense of gossip or dishonor. For example, if you are doing something wrong, and someone goes running and tells some superior you say "what a palomo you are."
When a person is not good, nor agile in love "You are a palomo."
Popi: This is said to young people who are upper class.
Ñapa: When you are handing out food or something, and you want to give an extra without being charged, or given away. "Ay give me a ñapa."
Tolete: A person who is very good at something, or they have a big personality. "He is a tolete on what he does."
Yeyo: When one gets dizzy or faint. "You will have a yeyo".

Prepara un mini diccionario de palabras o frases de tu país/ciudad. Explica su significado.
Esto va a ser bien interesante, hay muchísimas palabras dominicanas muy extrañas, pero trataré de decir las más divertidas.
Abombao: Cuando una persona tiene aire en el estomago y se siente como hinchado.
Acechar: Es como vigilar, pero se utiliza a modo de chisme, como "Estaba acechando a Maria" estaba viendo lo que hacía sin que se de cuenta. Sinónimos: stalker #spanglish
Ajumao: Cuando una persona está borracha. "Me dí un jumo" que bebió mucho y estuvo bien borracho.
Añoñar: Es como consentir a una persona. "Te voy a añoñar" cuando vas y le das un abrazo a alguien o le das cariño para que se sienta mejor.
Palomo: Esta es bien difícil de explicar, y tiene muchos significados.
Cuando una persona deja pasar una oportunidad por alto le dicen "Que palomo" o "Palomiaste."
Cuando una persona le hace algo malo a otra, en el sentido de chisme o deshonor. Por ejemplo, si estas haciendo algo mal hecho, y alguien va corriendo y le dice a algún superior le dices "Que palomo tu ere."
Cuando una persona no es buena, ni ágil en el amor "Tu ere un palomo."
Popi: Se le dice así a los jóvenes que son de clase alta.
Ñapa: Cuando estas repartiendo comida o algo, y quieres dar un extra sin que te cobren, o sea regalado. "Ay dame una ñapa"
Tolete: Una persona que es muy buena en algo, o tienen personalidad grande. "El es un tolete en lo que hace".
Yeyo: Cuando uno se marea o se desmaya. "Te va a dar un yeyo"
