Murals of Colour and Light [CCC's Street Art Contest #167]

Good morning!

Here are a set of murals I encountered in the little town of Portomarín, Galicia.

While I was walking down the road, on a small house in the middle of the town, I saw an avalanche of drawings.

They looked interesting, so I got closer to have a better view.

This is the most colourful and interesting piece, in my opinion. It looks like the concept is a mix between themes varying from religious, farming life and the Saint James Way's pilgrims.

This is my entry for the CCC's Street Art Contest #167, hosted by @digi-me.

Each of the walls had been painted with a different piece, but all were part of the same work. The 3 walls matched and complemented each other very well.

The remaining walls had more generic paintings, as you can see in these shots.

This house was part of a school but it appeared to be its main office and administrative side only. All the classrooms were located in a bigger building, on a nearby street.

The school's name was "Virgen de la Luz" (Virgin of the Light), which suggests its a school run by the local church.

Here's a close up shot of the main entrance. As you can see, in these walls the artist had a very limited space to work with.

Here you can have a cleaner view of the other large wall. Due to its layout, the artist had to be quite creative and draw around the windows. 😆

I hope you enjoyed these shots. See you next time!
