Niagara Falls have about 12,000 years old and were formed when melting glaciers created massive freshwater lakes. The rushing waters carved out a river and in one point this one passed over a steep cliff like formation creating this originals falls. However, currently every year, Niagara Falls is making its way back approximately 1 foot every year. There are actually two waterfalls in Niagara, the one that comes from the States with a height of 53.6 meters and the Canadian one that has 50.9 meters height. Both of them carry approximately 750,000 U.S. Gallons of water.
