There was this time someone made an assumption about me that honestly caught me off guard because of how completely wrong everything was.

I had a confrontation with someone because of something he had told my sisters about me, at first, when I heard about it, I honestly didn't even know what to say because I was just there thinking, "Wait, where did you even get all these things from?"

Everything he had heard and then told my sisters about me was wrong, not slightly wrong, like completely wrong, and that was the part that actually hurt me.

I think when someone says something negative about you, you can handle it better when there is at least some truth somewhere inside it, you can look at yourself and say, "Okay, maybe I actually did this and I need to work on it."

But when somebody creates a whole version of you that doesn't even exist, it feels different, It was sad because this person was talking about me like he knew me, while everything he was saying was based on assumptions and things he had heard from somewhere.

Thankfully, my sisters know me, they know the kind of person I am, and instead of just believing everything they heard, they came directly to me.

They told me what had been said, see ehn ..... honestly, I appreciated that because it could have easily gone the other way, they could have heard everything and started looking at me differently without even asking me what happened.

But they didn't....

They came to me, and that gave me the opportunity to actually understand what was happening and confront the person responsible.

So I went to him and told him exactly how I felt, I told him that whatever he had said about me, he needed to take his words back because eventually, those words could come back to bite him.

I wasn't confronting him because I was desperate to prove myself to him, It was more about setting the record straight, there is a difference between someone not liking you and someone deliberately telling people things about you that are not true.

You don't have to like me, you do not even have to understand me, but do not create a version of me in your head and then start presenting that version to other people as if you know me.

That is where I draw the line, and honestly, this experience taught me something about assumptions.

People will always have their own opinions about you. Sometimes they will hear one side of a story and immediately decide who you are. Sometimes they will misunderstand something you did. Sometimes they will simply decide that they know your intentions without ever asking you.

And there is only so much you can do about that, personally, I don't really care too much about what people have to say about me.

Of course, nobody likes being misunderstood. It hurts, especially when the person saying those things is someone who had no reason to believe them in the first place.

But at the end of the day, I know myself, I know my intentions,I know the kind of person I am.

And the people who genuinely know me will eventually see me for who I am, not for what somebody else decided to tell them, so yes, it made me sad, It annoyed me too,but I didn't allow somebody else's wrong assumption to become my identity, Because at the end of the day, I know me, and honestly, that is enough.
