I was never someone who believed in love, I always thought it was a joke to say you love someone, I think this was because of the experience I had when I was younger and so growing up with that mindset, it didn't do me any good, but I still had to go with the normals of life.
I met Emmanuel while I was still at my aunt's place, he was then a copper serving the country, and he also had come to stay with his aunt for a few weeks before he was posted to his place of serving. We started as friends, he was always making jokes at any time we saw each other, and yes it was a frequent meeting cause his aunt's place was directly opposite our place and they had a shop in which some food items and provisions were sold, it was because I was the one in charge of getting things for the house, that was the reason why we had so much meeting time.
One day I had come to the shop to get some things I needed for the house as I was on cooking duties, he had then asked me out, this was how everything played out.
I had gone to buy those those I needed and had gone to their shop as usual, that was when he started talking about how he had a dream, he saw me in it and kissed me, and we were happy, at first I thought he was joking as he normally joking always made some remarks, and when he wasn't laughing I just looked at him as if he had lost a nut, and just before I could give him an answer my aunt's car came into the driveway, I could see that from the position where I was standing, I promised to continue the conversation when I was free.
Well, I later accepted to date him, even though I wasn't so sure I could fall in love with him, I said yes because he was a nice person and he always made me laugh whenever I was sad, he was like support to me during this period, So after about two weeks he had to leave and I knew I was going to miss him so much, I promised to visit him whenever I had the chance. and yeah I did visit him once, he was happy I came around and I was also happy to see him after many months.
After I broke the news about going back to Lagos, he didn't say anything and he just asked that I visited which I said yes to gain, but too bad I wasn't able to visit him because lagos was too far from Akwa Ibom where he was serving, I even lost my phone during this time and I was devasted as I couldn't get in contact with him till date, I still haven't spoken with him.
This was a very bad dating experience as we never broke up or got any form of closure, we can say life happened here. we weren't able to see and talk to each other even though we wanted to.
This is my response to the hive-ghana prompt
