Hello everyone, welcome to my blog, this will be my first post to the DIYhub community.
Since the beginning of this tear I have been asking my elder sister to teach me how to sew my little girl clothes for starter, I have been visiting her workspace because of this, but whenever I go there, she is always busy and i never had time to fully learn something tangible and because of this, I had began to lose interest.
But early last month September I made a decision to start from somewhere so I could at least have the knowledge of what it takes to make any clothing, I watched some YouTube tutorial on different things one could possibly sew, and I stumbled on a video where they made a scrunchies headband, I decided I was going to make one, but the issue of having no material to do it with came up and I called my sister, since she is a fashion designer, she has a lot of materials in her house and so she gave me one also I asked for more direction how to make it to make it an easier experience for me.
So here's how I made the headband , and it was so easy, I think I would be making more of this in .ore colours so I can wear when I am going out.
Materials needed
Ankara material (40 by 10inches)
Needle
Thread
Scissors
Measuring tape
Steps
1.I first cut out a long strip of 40 by 10inches material
2.I cut out 15inches by 4inches for the lining part
3.I cut out 15inches by 3inches for the elastic part
4.I sewed the 40inches by 10inches long material by half inch and then I turned it inside out.
5.I sewed the part for the elastic also by half inch and turned it inside out
6.The part for the lining was left without any sewing.
7.Then I put in the part meant for the lining inside the 40by10inches material, this is the part that makes the scrunchies, just as you see below.
8.I then sewed the edges closed
9.I measured out 7inches of elastic and out in the elastic material and them I sewed closed also.
10.This is time to merged everything together, I joined one edge of the elastic to the main headband material and same with the other edge and voila!!!!
My Scrunchies is made, I will be wearing this to school on the weekend with a bright color blouse 🤗
