What is sleep?
When your eyes are closed, your body is at rest, and your mind is asleep, you are in the condition of sleep.
There are times when we, as individuals, try to defy nature by staying awake and not getting enough sleep. I remember one time when I was in this state, I would sleep late and wake up early, it got to the point where I started having severe headaches as a result of not having enough sleep, at the point when I couldn't stay awake when it was already 9pm, I would just go to sleep, but when I remembered I had something to do online, I tried to wake up and use my laptop, All of this, however, resulted in a severe breakdown from which I am still recovering..
As a mother of two children, I try to tell myself that I am still young and that I can do anything without it affecting me, but that is a lie. You can't fool nature; I had migraines for weeks and had to spend a lot of money on doctor visits just to be okay.
Sleep is an extremely important part of our lives, as I discovered after becoming ill. Now, whenever I notice that I am feeling sleepy, I stop whatever I am doing and go to sleep.
People require sleep in order to live. Sleep enables your body to repair itself and carry out the necessary vital biological functions. Adults require 7 to 8 hours of sleep each night. However, work and predisposing factors often can hinder your capacity to sleep.
The following are warning indicators of sleep deprivation:
extreme drowsiness
yawning frequently and irritation
Daytime drowsiness
Chronic sleep deprivation might affect your body's internal mechanisms and result in symptoms beyond those mentioned above.Sleep deprivation has a negative impact on your mental competence as well as your emotions. You may become more irritable or more likely to succumb to mood swings. It can also jeopardize judgment and creative thinking.
The effect sleep has on the body is alot but here is a few
1. Weight: Sleep can have an impact on the hormones that regulate hunger and fullness. It may also cause the glucose to be released. Increased fat accumulation, alterations in body weight, and an increased likelihood of developing type 2 diabetes can all be results of sleep disorders.
2. The brain: The part of the brain, that manages intelligence, and the part of the brain, that manages emotion, are both affected by a lack of sleep. A person's ability to create new memories may be disrupted by a lack of sleep, which might hinder learning.
So, in light of everything, I think we should make an effort to avoid becoming victims of it. Let's obtain the recommended amount of sleep to recharge our bodies, our minds, and our immune systems. So let's attempt to get enough rest.
I've learned my lesson the hard way, therefore I don't allow anything stand between me and my sleep anymore because I don't want to go through the sufferings I did before.
