Good day dear mates! Just several days ago I've published post about my friend's garden. And now I'm ready to show how changed my own garden since my last April post. Also please remember, that since that post already passed more than 4 weeks.
So let's start.
First of all when I came back home from my friend and visited my garden I noticed big changes there!
And all it thanks to warm weather at day time which was in my region during my absence. So almost all plants started to bloom in my garden excepting blueberry cranberry apple trees and vine.
Also I have one sad news from my garden - the cherry plum tree that grew behind my house did not wake up this time and was left without leaves. And how sad it is to admit it died.
This tree has been growing in my garden for more than 10 years and delighted the whole family with its juicy and sweet fruits. We love not only to eat fresh fruits, but also to make compotes and jams from them. Unfortunately, I don’t know what caused his death, I can assume that it was either an abnormal winter or a sudden infection that got on him. I don't see any other options right now. Of course, now I will look for cherry plums of that de variety and I now have plans to try another variety for a change.
But let's not talk about sad things, and let's move on. First of all, I noticed that the primroses that pleased me in April had already faded. But the tulips are still blooming!
Raspberry seedlings that were planted in the fall overwintered well and the leaves have already unraveled on them.
I hope this year they will please us this summer with their fruits.
Different varieties of sweet cherries planted in my garden behave differently. One variety has already flowered. In just a week.
Another variety is still blooming.
Well, the third variety was planted only last year and this year I still do not expect fruits from it.
I should also note that my experiment with grafting a new variety of sweet cherry on an old shoot failed and the graft did not take root.
The plum trees are still in bloom and may be in that year there will be many fruits on them
The apple trees are just preparing their buds, and I think they will soon also bloom for our slavery.
Peppermint bushes also grow well. When they reach their maturity I will gather and dry them. To add to tea in winter.
Currant bushes will soon bloom too, judging by the clusters of buds.
Also, another one plant is waiting for a permanent place for planting to be prepared for it.
Previously mentioned blueberry bushes have also unraveled their leaves, but there are no buds yet. And blueberry seedlings are also languishing in anticipation of being planted in a permanent place.
In greenhouse that I managed to dig up the ground for planting seedlings of tomatoes and other plants,
I managed to wash yesterday and just the other day I expect to plant everything in it`s place.
In addition, the parsley that was planted in the fall in the greenhouse is already growing and gives us vitamins. We add it to salads and other meals.
Well, in the end, it is worth mentioning vines, which have just barely begun to bud.
And roses, after pruning, started up new shoots and I hope they will reward us with their flowering in summer.
Honeysuckle bushes that were planted last year are still growing and are not yet expected to bear fruit.
In the photo below you can see the signal bud. So I think everything will be in due time.
But this plant was obtained by crossing currants and gooseberries, as the seller who sold the shoot of this plant said. But it blooms beautifully. And his berries are black and quite sweet.
Well, I also plan to plant a lemongrass plant so that when it grows you can make delicious jam from its berries.
