Good day dear mates! Since my last garden update already passed more than 3 weeks.
So it's April time and I think that I should tell you what has changed during this time!
First off the biggest and most important thing is that the snow has melted!
It's so great and important thing, which I was waiting all long winter days!
In my previous post I told you that planted tomatoes for seedlings. And now after 3 weeks I've already put most part of them to separate pots.
Now they are looks strong and quite big enough. Of course now days are longer and my tomatoes gets more sun light on it's leaves.
Now let's move outdoor.As so as temperature became warm outside first flowers started to bloom.
This nice blue flowers so inspiring until tulips and others are added to their flowering.
Also in this post I need to mention that I decided to relocate blueberries plants in this season as so as they grew at the northern side of my garden and closer to the September they did not receive enough sun light, especially considering that fact that some of blueberry varietes ripen late.
So to replant this plants for the beginning I took from my good friend a sufficient amount of sour peat. I put it in big bags. Before the start of sap flow, I removed the blueberry bushes from their old place and planted them in bags with sour peat.
Then when I prepare a new place for permanent planting of my blueberries and they bear fruit, I will plant them there.
Also this season I decided to increase the number of sweet cherry varieties in my garden. To do this, I visited my neighbor and took several samples from him for grafting on cherry trees grown in my garden.
First, with a sharp knife, I made a cut at an acute angle on the branches of the scion, after which I made a T-shaped incision on the bark of the rootstock.
This time I decided to try to make a cut graft on very young trees with fragile wood. And for this, I made mirror oblique cuts both on the scion and on the rootstock, and after that I connected and fixed them.
I will tell about what came out of my experiment in my next posts.
I should also mention that the currant, blackberry and blueberry seedlings that I kept in my greenhouse due to the fact that the air there began to warm up much earlier than outside had already unraveled their leaves and are waiting in the wings when I plant them in a permanent place. But as you understand, this will not happen before I prepare the seat and the ground for planting.
You may also remember from my previous post that I sawed off the branches of an old apple trees.
Now I decided to grind them with a chainsaw. However, here I was in trouble, as the old chain on the saw broke
That's why I had to buy a new chain to complete what I started. this cost me nearly 9 bucks fortunately coz as I know it can costs more in my region.
And with this new chain I could finish it finally!
And finally, before the sap flow on the vine plants begins, I plan to steal the old vine plants and also test one method that will avoid the weeping of the vine plant.
But I will tell you about it in my next post.
