@nealmcspadden - Over the past year I bought probaby SEVEN 100 ( + 10 ) free batches of "Orbs", using BTC. During the last week that they were available for purchase I thought that buying one final batch might enable me to max out (or CLOSE TO max out) the remaining gold cards I had. I finally realized that I the "point of diminishing returns" in terms of buying more packs was NOT getting me what I needed. However, I have ZERO regrets for all of the spending/"investment" I made in those "Gold Orbs" cards, as they are AWESOME cards, just in the sense of the enjoyment I get in playing them, AND I am earning back all of the DEC I spent on the packs/batches with the 20% "gold promo" boost I get when I use them in battles (daily). I think that two main decisions by Splinterlands admin have been : ( 1 ) to include "Orbs" packs in the daily rewards, and ( 2 ) I believe I read that there will be a pre-sale reward for those who buy the new Azmare dice. BOTH off these have been major benefits (for me personally), because I could continue getting "Orbs" packs WITHOUT having to buy them with additional HODL crypto, and the "Untamed" pre-sale airdrops were the DETERMINING FACTOR in me buying, now 998 "Untamed" packs (starting in the first round of the pre-sale). I have already earned back a few hundred USD of the ~ $1,500 USD I spent on the 998 packs, and so my point is that it is ALSO important to factor in these extra bonuses, since they will alter the outcome of your equations. I look forward to being able to buy up a few "starter batches of the Azmare dice ( to start getting a "feel" for the cards, and also benefit from the pre-sale bonuses). I believe these two marketing tools are VERY EFFECTIVE, and my significant spending of BTC on packs is proof of this. Good video.
