It was one of the big full moon days of the year in my hometown. Therefore, we chose to go to the temple, burn incense, and pray for good luck. That is the custom of my country. Especially those who have faith in Buddhism. And today I went to a beautiful big temple in Vung Tau. On holidays or full moon occasions like this, the temple is extremely crowded with visitors from all over the world. Today I would like to introduce to you this temple.
Shakyamuni Buddha is a Buddhist architectural complex belonging to the Theravada sect located on the northwest slope of Big Mountain, number 608, Tran Phuc street, Vung Tau city. The temple was built and survived for more than 40 years alone and has very large Buddha statues. Up to now, the pagoda is not only a place to practice for monks and nuns but also a sightseeing place for tourists from all over the world to visit.
When I first entered the temple, I did not see anything outstanding, but the deeper I went inside, the more beautiful the temple was because of the layout, the aisles were all beautifully decorated.
Inside the temple is very large, many places to visit. Trees are also a great point here because the large, many-year-old trees create shade for the whole temple grounds. Moreover, walking around the temple, you will encounter souvenir shops along the path. I find that also quite interesting, as you can buy small Buddha statues or Buddha chains here. Inside there is also a vegetarian restaurant for visitors to the temple. The temple grounds are quite large and there are many beautiful steps connecting the places together. The architecture of the station is very unique and bold in the Buddhist tradition.
There are 2 very large Buddha statues. First, when you step through the steps leading to the top, turn right and you will see a statue up to 11.6 m high, extremely majestic and majestic. The statue of Shakyamuni Buddha faces the sea, in the middle of the blue sky, below is a large incense burner with a lamp, for those who want to offer incense and pray. According to my personal experience, every time you go to a temple, even if you just come to visit, take pictures, you should also offer a stick of incense to the Buddha, which will bring you luck. Next to the Buddha image is a stupa "inside the stupa contains 3 jade relics of the Buddha". For Buddhism as far as I know, that makes the temple more sacred.
Opposite the Buddha statue is a beautiful view of the salt fields of the people here, in the distance is the boatyard, with many fishing boats moored. Mixed with the cool breeze passing by, and the blue sky, creating a very beautiful scene. I stood there for a long time after offering incense and praying, admiring the beauty of this place.
Then go a little further, there will be a left-hand entrance to the huge statue of the reclining Buddha. This statue is a statue of Buddha entering Nirvana facing the West, 2.4 m high, 12.2 m long, below 9 monks standing with folded hands. This is a meticulously sculpted statue, and very beautiful.
