Whose or what picture is on the home page of your phone? And why did you pick that?
What do you see when you look at your phone? Pictures of yourself? Pictures of your friends? Pictures of your family? The answer is probably all of the above. For me, especially, setting pictures of myself smiling as the home page of my phone, and looking at it every single day is the simple way to cheer myself up and make me happy.
People think that the keys to happiness just lay in front of them, but if you close your eyes and think back on what made you happy, you'll realize that you've been happy before. Pictures of myself on the wall of my phone remind me how happy I am. I don't need to try so hard to find happiness; it's always there.
BEING SATISFIED
Like many people on this earth, I've had my fair share of hardships. Throughout my life, I've made mistakes and experienced difficulties that some people only wish they could comprehend. Yet, through all of these challenges, I am grateful for the person that I am today - strong and resilient.
I am a content person. I try not to get caught up in what I don't have and rather focus on all the good things I do have going on in my life. That's why, when I was asked if I was satisfied with what I had or whether more was better, the answer is that more isn't always better. In fact, being happy with what you have makes you happier each day.
I am happy. I'm happy every day. Every morning I wake up knowing everything is perfect in my life, and I have myself to thank for that. Some people are so busy trying to be rich or famous that they forget what's important. They forget to be satisfied with what they have.
The key to happiness is often not found in the amount of money one has, but in the attitude of the person. I am an observer of people and have met many; some of them are poor but happy. They are content with what they have. On the other hand, there are rich people who are never satisfied with what they have. These people are usually less content than those who are poorer because it seems that their wealth cannot afford them peace.
LOVING MYSELF
Women have been told that the key to a happy relationship is loving oneself first. It's important to be confident and accept yourself before accepting another person into your life. I've experienced and realized that it's hard to love others until I love myself. We all know the saying "you can't pour from an empty cup." This statement has never been more accurate than when one is trying to love themselves. It's important for us to be able to care for ourselves first so that we can then take care of others.
Don't get me wrong 馃檪 Loving myself doesn't mean I don't care about or love other people, but that you have to take care of yourself first in order to be able to help others better. As I want to make myself a better person in every realm of my life, I will appreciate others more and be able to grow as an individual through personal growth.
It sounds like something "easy said", isn't it?
Honestly, in order to love me, I need to let go of the things from my past which was holding me back from being happy. One way of doing this is that I take responsibility for my own happiness and not blame outside sources for it. Another way is that I look within and learn about my strengths and weaknesses in order to become a better and stronger person.
My phone is a good connection to myself, my friends, and my family, and looking at my pictures on it can distract the ills of everyday life. I open up the camera app, scroll through the pictures of myself with every picture coming to memory which each click I can feel myself step back into good moments I had.
These pictures are reminders of the keys to my happiness: they teach me about how to love myself and be grateful for what I have at the moment. The more I look at the pictures of myself smiling, the happier I feel.
