Who are we living for? We may ask this question to ourselves every day. The answer may be different depending on the time of day, our mood, or what event has just happened. Some people choose to live for themselves, while others may live for their children, friends, family members, spouses or significant other.

Living for my family

If we are honest with ourselves, we will admit that this world is not always an easy place to be. In order to make it through the day, there are many tasks and duties that we must complete in order to get by. By taking care of our responsibilities, we often spend with others or loved ones, one starts to wonder if they're living for themselves or for someone else.

My close-knit friend got married and often shares with me about their families. She loves her kids and husband more than anything in the world. She d贸e everything for them. On a typical day, she gets up with her children, takes them to school and then comes back to cook. That's her life and she's living for it every minute.

It's a fact, my family is the centre of my world. They are the people that will always be there for me through thick and thin and love me unconditionally. It doesn't matter if I stay at home in Viet Nam or overseas I'm always thinking about what they need or want and how they are. My family are happy I'm happy. I don't mind working hard and spending my savings on them. They've deserved it.

Living for myself

Many people dream about living their life for themselves. How many times have we heard that before? To live for ourselves is to give in to any and every desire that surfaces. Eating a tub of ice cream in the middle of the night. Ordering an extra-large pizza for dinner. Buying two pairs of shoes when your closet is already full of them. Going on holiday anytime we want and do what we like. This may sound like it would be fun and beneficial living for ourselves.

It is not uncommon for many of us to put our families first in our lives. It can be difficult to find the balance between time spent with family and personal life, but it can be done. I do love my family but I also want to focus on me- myself. Since I started doing it, my life has been going much smoother. Self-love is vital for my personal growth as well. I meant I'm trying to balance everything in my life and living for both my family and myself has always been my priority.
