In my previous post Kris-Kringle Gift Search I tackled the struggle that I had, picking what I should be giving in our party.
After the end of our shift 5:00 AM PH time, I tried to take a nap until 8:00 AM since our call time is 1:00 PM in Alabang Muntinlupa. Since I am coming from the south, my travel time would be at least 1 hour or 1 1/2 depending on the traffic jam and other outside forces.
We discussed that we will hold our event at Neil's Kitchen, Niko our teammate told us that there's no need to schedule a reservation anymore on the place and we can just walk in. Unfortunately, at the time that we picked there's a reservation already thus we were not able to secure our place.
I arrived at around 12:00 noon, famished. I didn't eat that much when we took our breakfast that day as I am expecting to eat heartily that day. Unfortunately, since there's no place yet I waited.
As usual, the folks from the south arrived early undecided on where we will eat. Some our teammates left the place and roam around the area to pick a good place.
2:00 PM after multiple discussions and phone calls we are able to secure a slot at Gringo. It was an American-style resto and I can say that the food is good. The first thing that we provided is our vaccination card as per the protocol you cannot dine into the place if ever that you are not vaccinated.
The metal chairs are too cold our butts felt it - this is something that I did not appreciate on the resto.
After pigging out, they craved for dessert. Since the selection isn't that good in the place we decided to leave the area and also we felt that we are not that welcome by the waiters and the managers there. They might be having a busy day that day as there are multiple folks eating and waiting to be served. ( I felt that there's no pandemic, it seems that it is now normal except people are wearing a face mask.)
They are fan of Korean stuff , so we decided to eat our desserts in a Korean shop. I ordered the cheapest Bingsu in the store which is around $4.00 there we talk about some stuff like plans of returning to the office and catch-up with the happenings in life.
I even shared Hive and the stuff that I am doing here and as usual, they are not that interested 😄. Especially on the writing side as we all know that one of the reasons why people are afraid to try this site is because they are not into writing blogs.
Overall it was a refreshing experience going outside not doing my groceries. Seeing new folks around is something that I am not able to do anymore as I am more fan of staying in our home. Plus I don't see the need to go outside anymore as my work revolves around our home.
For the gift: Niko was the one who got my coffee grinder, unfortunately, no one in their family drinks coffee 😆 I. He said that he will just try to use it in the future. As for me, I got a portable blender courtesy of Mel. I told her that we are planning to buy one as we are introducing foods to our daughter Dyn-dyn and it is a good thing that I will not be buying it anymore.
