I remember the day I fell in love with you. You were not in love, but still, you fell. We are trees. Some parts of us are substantial, some are subtle, some are practical, some are beautiful, and some are too light. We dance in the air, lean in the rain, and our best part is our heart.
We provide shelter for others from the typhoon, though sometimes we can't stand the typhoons ourselves, and even though we can't explain it and they are damaged, we will not get them permanently damaged. We are trees, mighty and tall, steadfast against any force, but then someone comes and hits us on the root, and as long as there is nothing to hold us, we stand, and finally, we fall.
What you have read so far is about the heart of the tree. Their hearts want to tell us many things we do not typically comprehend or perceive. I never wanted that to happen.
A night, light and flashing across the sky, then the storm started.
One of the most significant storms of the year. Or was the weather department correct? It's always me and my stupid mind. A flash of lightning smashed the atmosphere, the biggest flashback yet. It was like a giant jolt, and I took a step back in that gaze. The last thing I saw as the mountain lit up was his face, a face I knew very well. I couldn't be sure, but I thought I saw his face. The sound was silent as opposed to thunder.
It's been a few years. I still think about it from time to time, and it makes me weaker; what would happen if we didn't go there. My family has moved. It seemed like the only option. My parents tell me it's not my fault; I know it wasn't my fault. Still, things take time. We are trees, so like that tree, I will heal. I know it will happen slowly, but of course, it will, and I will recover. I will get back my lost part, my broken heart will be healed, and I will be strong again like before or more.
