Messi-
I watched Ronaldo during his years at Manchester United and it was a privilege. The improvement he has made since then has been incredible, something I didn't think was possible.
However, Messi does things I never thought I would see anyone do on a football field and in doing so overcomes a height and physical strength disadvantage that is so marked in an era when our game is increasingly the preserve of giants. So I would probably pay to watch Messi ahead of Ronaldo. But if CR7 happened to be playing on the other side, all the better.

Martin Samuel always tells me that you have to be consistent when you're a columnist. Maybe that's one of the reasons why I'm not a columnist. This question: Messi or Ronaldo? One day it's Ronaldo, most days it's probably Ronaldo, then days like Sunday evening, it's Messi.
It's the Friendship Scarf equivalent of an answer. A Half and half answer. But today I'd rather pay to watch Messi. But if I paid to watch him against Real Madrid then I'd get to see both of them.
Ronaldo-
The timing is slanted against Cristiano given we are still in the immediate glow of mesmeric Messi. I've been fortunate to see both live on a number of occasions and Ronaldo has been the most thrilling; quicker, shoots harder and hangs in the air like superman.
A more expressive personality as well though there is something magical about seeing a little guy dribble around an entire team. I think Messi's legacy will live longer but Ronaldo in his pomp was pure entertainment so I'll swim against the tide and say him.
However .i think Messi is the best football player in the world!
if you enjoy it please upvoted me 😍
