If we check deeply we'll see that people who are supporting either Messi or Ronaldo are doing that out of their emotions and not literally based on their achievements because come on, the two of them have achieved a lot in the world of football and it's very hard to pick out who's the goat among them even though the favour is falling towards Messi due to the world cup records.
So, my support towards any of them is also based on my emotion, and I don't hide it, and also, it's a laughable one and considered "rubbish"
Messi:
I've watched Messi play football a few times compared to how I've watched Ronaldo, and that's because I didn't always have the opportunity to watch the La Liga league compared to how I've watched the PREMIER league. Most of the time I've watched MESSI was in the World Cup at different levels, and hey, Nigeria was always placed in the group with Argentina. In those times, Argentina always beat us (Nigeria), and in those beatings, Messi and Di Maria always had their way with us. I won't lie, this is where I didn't just like how he always walloped us. He's a great player, I won't lie.
Also, the recent FIFA favouritism has been a sprinkle of sourness to my liking of his football career.
Hold on, you can't just say you're blind and not see all the favouritism he's been getting from FIFA. The most recent is the red card he was supposed to have gotten when he committed a red-card offense against an Algerian player, but the referee and the VAR waved it off without even bothering to have a second look at it. Favouritism at its peak!
Ronaldo:
Back in the days, I didn't know much about Ronaldo, but my dad bought a DVD of the best of Manchester United, which was when I saw RONALDO in action and got acquainted with him. Also, I saw him play for Manchester United when I really got into league football, and his return to Manchester United was a good movie.
In his entire career in football, he never scored a goal against my nation(Nigeria), although he only played once, and that was during the preparation of this ongoing World Cup (FIFA World Cup 2026), and he didn't score.
I won't lie, I love it more when someone is criticized and judged everywhere, and that's been the life of Ronaldo. He has never been left out of the topic of discussion, and I always feel pity for him.
Wait!!!
Were you expecting me to write this based on their achievements? No way! I'm more of an emotional person. 😅
Thanks for reading.
