My mom did me well by the sudden exposure, oh.. I must commend her properly for that.
Is it bragging? Hehe.. There was a time in my life when I boasted to friends on how I had counted 300-500 thousand naira, and they wouldn't be able to doubt since I most times come with 500 naira as pocket money to school. Don't go there, i was a big girl in primary school.
Then I didn't know the impact that had on me until the sudden twist happened.
Funny it wasn't long ago i knew how strong these impact had on me till the trace back and then came realization.
When mom gave me her business money to count then, I would happily take it and count. Sometimes I would deliberately lie that I miscounted just so I could continue counting all because I was enjoying the feel of money in my hands.
This went on and on, even though the money weren't mine, my eyes were not new to cash. At a time, Dad too brought his, and trust me.. Am ever ready to count😅
Now things are different from then, experiencing the sudden turn. One of my mom’s fears was that I wouldn't be able to handle hardship and might end up living another life since adapting to the current lifestyle wouldn't be easy.
However, she would be proven wrong. I didn't even know she had those fears until she called for me and then advised me on being content and not to be deceived by others or what they have to offer.

On my own I would be wondering why mom always says the same words almost every time. At the time i was too naive to notice she says these things for my good and that's because i don't believe there's anything anyone could have want to offer me that's capable of blowing my mind, I didn't believe i lacked anything when when we had it and right now when things took a U- turn, I still believed am fortunate to have experienced a good life and still desire it with the work of my own sweat.
Even with being ignorant, my mentality had already been programmed in a non-money freaked mode. Not that i don't like money, but that you can't use it as a means of advances towards me, as a matter of fact down till date it's a big red flag when a guy tries to pose by telling me of his wealths and resources to my face.
Now, this is my story. If at age 11 my mom knew the simple act of counting her business money would serve as an antivirus to poisonous individuals who uses money as a medium of deceit, she probably would have started earlier.
Children are affected by the minds and behavior of their environment, seeing my parents having such an amount which was obviously big in my eyes gave me that mindset to one day desire to own my business and began making such an amount and even more too. In my opinion, i would rather prefer to expose my kids to money and its importance at a stage where i think they're wise enough to recognize money so as to get them familiarized in other not to be fooled by the outside world just asy parents helped me.
