Tommy was drinking coffee by his taxi when Dino and a goon attacked him. They smashed his cab with a bat. Tommy broke free and then I ran away while they shot at him. I made it to Salieri's bar. Sam and Paulie stepped in with a shotgun and scared the goons off.
After taking the fares and drove with the drunk passenger last time, Tommy was sitting inside his taxi. He was drinking a cup of coffee during a break.
Out of nowhere, a guy named Dino walked up, grabbed Tommy, and pulled him right out of the car. Another goon came along with Dino carrying a heavy baseball bat, and he immediately started smashing up the taxi.
Dino started yelling in his face, telling him that he made a big mistake helping out Salieri's men a few days ago, and that he really should have stayed out of their business.
While Dino was turned around talking to the other goon for a second, Tommy saw his chance to make a move. He shoved Dino hard to get back on his feet, then turned around and started running down the street as fast as he could.
The two goons stopped hitting the car and immediately started chasing after him. I just kept running through the alleyways to save my life. as I didn't really have a solid plan or a good place to hide.
The goons pulled out handguns and started shooting at me from behind, making the whole street ring with loud gunshots. Bullets were hitting the nearby walls and the pavement near my feet, so I kept swerving around corners to avoid getting shot.
Eventually, Tommy realized he was getting close to Salieri's bar, so he sprinted straight toward the front entrance. Sam and Paulie were standing right outside the building, and they quickly noticed Tommy running down the block with two armed goons right on his tail.
Tommy ran directly up to them to catch his breath, and the goons pulled up a second later.
Sam stepped in right away and blocked the goons from getting any closer. Dino tried to play it cool and act tough, claiming they were just having a simple talk with the cab driver, but Sam wasn't buying any of it.
Sam told him that Tommy was the Don's favorite driver now, meaning if they had a problem with Tommy, they had to deal with Sam too. Right then, Paulie walked out of the bar holding a heavy shotgun and pointed it straight at Dino and his buddy.
Realizing they were completely outgunned, Dino said they would see each other around, and both goons backed off and walked away.
Tommy thanked Sam and Paulie for saving his life, and Paulie told him it was finally time to go inside and meet Don Salieri in person.
