Enzo learned about the advisor Tino before Don Torrisi introduced his daughter, Isabella, who was the lady from the stables. After a silent exchange, Enzo and Luca began a new chapter delivering wine crates. They discussed a major horse race and the Don's favor-based business before reaching their first stop.
The smile quickly faded from Enzo's face when he noticed the old man, Tino, in the party. Observing this sudden shift in mood, Luca leaned in and explained that Tino is a very close friend and trusted advisor to the Don, assuring Enzo that he would get to know all of these people in due time.
The guest of honor finally made her grand arrival at the evening gathering, revealing herself to be the exact same lady who had offered Enzo an apple at the stables earlier. Enzo was visibly surprised to discover that she was actually the daughter of Don Torrisi.
Don Torrisi took center stage and requested that everyone stand up to join in the celebration of his beautiful daughter, Isabella, on her traditional name day. The entire crowd rose to their feet immediately, clapping and cheering to honor the special occasion.
While the rest of the guests remained entirely focused on the loud festivities, Isabella locked eyes with Enzo from across the courtyard. Enzo returned the gaze quietly, creating a tense moment that suggested a deeper connection or curiosity was forming between the two.
The second chapter, entitled "Pario," commenced with Enzo and Luca working together in the courtyard. They spent the morning loading up a wagon with numerous crates of wine destined for local clients.
The pair mounted their horses and began riding closely behind the moving wagon to escort the delivery goods. During the journey, Luca described an upcoming horse race where each local town sent its best riders, noting that the competition historically became incredibly heated.
We continued to move forward along the dusty path and noticed various townspeople gathering along the sides of the road.
As we pushed ahead, Enzo asked Luca some questions to better understand the inner workings of the Don's operations. Luca quickly warned him to exercise extreme caution with such inquiries, explaining that the Don dealt primarily in the delicate business of favors, just as a group of riders suddenly sprinted past them.
We finally arrived at the first delivery stop on our route to drop off a crate of wine. Luca halted his horse and instructed me to lift one of the crates and carry it directly inside the perimeter of the property.
After passing through the main door, we located the man of the house, who was busy working on a vehicle in the yard. Luca instructed Enzo to place the crate safely on a nearby table, while the other man casually replied to Luca regarding his mother's update.
To be continued.
