I think it's familiar to every gardener. In the fall you plant a new plant and in the spring you check with trepidation whether it has taken root? Has it taken root? Isn't it cold in winter?
But then the tender leaves appeared and you breathe out with relief: alive!
But this year I was in for a double surprise!
First of all, my cherry blossoms, which I planted last year, have blossomed. The tree is still quite tiny. There are few flowers, I accidentally noticed them among the bright leaves, but they are there!!! I haven't been waiting for flowering for at least a couple of years, but such a joy!
And the same story with decorative almonds. Of course, I must admit that only one bush out of three has bloomed (on the second only leaves, and the third shows no signs of life at all, but I still hope). But it's still an achievement.
I am more and more convinced that my choice in favour of ornamental trees and shrubs for my garden was the right one. With age, it's getting harder for me to take care of the garden, but I still want beauty and bright colours. I'm thinking of adding a few more ornamental trees and shrubs this year.
