Everyone should answer these two questions all the time...everything you do must have a meaning, a goal and a scope.
If you are not able to answer these two questions today, then you need to reflect on them and see if you could spend your time better on other things with more defined and clear goals...maybe you will realize that the meaning of life has more to do with these questions than you imagine...
«Why» is used to ask about the cause or reason for something. That is, it seeks to know the origin or reason for an action or situation.
«What for» is used to ask about the purpose or goal of something, that is, what you are trying to achieve or attain with an action.
We could also apply it to HIVE.
If you are in HIVE and you have not yet asked yourself "why" and "what for", you probably won't have much of a chance here... you will be one of the thousands who have come in, taken what they could and left.
The answers to these two questions shouldn't be too complicated either.
Simple answers would suffice.
Example, (not real):
Why am I in HIVE?
- Why I want to learn about Blockchain
- Because I feel joy in sharing experiences and discovering those of others without reservations if you want
- Because I believe in its proposal for an economy with a high degree of decentralization
- Because its Blockchain offers more transparency than other "databases"
- Because I am free to express my opinion on what I want, without offending anyone, obviously
- Because I feel outside of state control
- Because it is a blockchain that does not fail... (for the moment)
The list can be endless, and if you look closely, it makes you think about many things, and weigh the negative and positive aspects to find something that is useful to you and that makes sense, that is the "why" HIVE and not another project...
The "What for?" is more difficult but equally important. The question must delve deep inside you to know what a project, a job or a specific activity can offer you. The answers should be less here, they should be more relevant.

You redefine each experience based on a practical sense, of application in daily life and, in turn, you align it with a greater purpose. It is more comprehensive.
The term "relevance" is very subjective and depends on each one. For some, the answer could be related to the economic aspect...for others, the simple fact of expressing their emotions, stories or activities can already be an almost therapeutic purpose.
In my case, I personally believe that my "What For" is a mix of the two, earning an extra income while I freely express or share experiences, activities, thoughts or opinions.
And you?
