Hola a todos los miembros de esta comunidad. Mi nombre es Antonio Manuel Nápoles Rivero y llevo algo más de un mes en este ecosistema que es Hive. Me complace y me honra escribir en esta comunidad porque soy graduado universitario de esta carrera del magisterio que la considero la madre de todas las profesiones, porque es la única que crea varios oficios.

En la presentación que hice para Hive abordé algunos de los elementos más importantes de mi vida laboral y personal y dentro de ellos la labor como profesor ha sido determinante en mi desarrollo profesional.
En esta primera publicación quiero referirme a mi experiencia, como profesor durante los 30 años que ejercí la profesión.
Nunca pensé profesor, esa es la verdad. Siempre le decía a mi mamá que si debía ser médico o maestro no estudiaría más, pues quería ser ingeniero. No pude graduarme como ingeniero y debía comenzar a trabajar, para aportar al sustento económico de mi hogar. Mi mamá me dijo que tenía dos opciones: O trabajaba como ayudante de la construcción o iniciaba como profesor, pero que como no quería ser profesor que le dijera mi última palabra. Era el año 1986 y yo tenía 19 años. Ahí empezó mi aventura en este hermoso y sacrificado mundo que es la educación en la asignatura de Geografía. Durante todos los años que trabajé en educación (1986-2017) trabajé en casi todas las enseñanzas y ocupé diferentes responsabilidades. Mi etapa en educación la tengo en dos etapas: la primera de 1986 al 2003 y la segunda del 2003 al 2017.
En la primera etapa trabajé en secundaria básica, preuniversitario y enseñanza politécnica. En esta etapa fui profesor, jefe de departamento, subdirector docente, subdirector de internado y director de escuela.
En la segunda etapa trabajé como director de una Filial Universitaria e impartí docencia de pregrado y postgrado.
Fue en educación donde tuve mi mayor crecimiento personal y profesional y que me ha permitido llegar hasta mi actual trabajo, como director de Gestión del Conocimiento en el Instituto de Geología y Paleontología, Servicio Geológico de Cuba.
En educación alcancé una cultura general integral tan necesaria, para saciar las inquietudes de los estudiantes y poder impartir mejores clases. Gracias a esta profesión pude superarme hasta alcanzar el título de Licenciado en Educación, especialidad Geografía y hacer una especialidad de postgrado en Psicopedagogía. Estando en educación pude representar a mi país en el exterior y conocer a la hermosa Venezuela y en una de las escuelas por las que transité conocí a mi esposa con la que este año cumplo 25 años.

Todo lo anterior ha sido bueno en mi vida, pero lo más grandioso ha sido y es el reconocimiento de los que fueron mis estudiantes, verlos convertidos en hombres y mujeres de bien, como médicos, ingenieros, técnicos, obreros, maestros. Tengo algunos de estos alumnos que pude darles clase en secundaria y después graduarlos como licenciados en Educación y que me hayan dicho que se hicieron maestros por la fuerza de mi ejemplo. Ese ha sido uno de mis mayores tesoros en esta profesión. La otra que muchos de mis estudiantes me digan padre, es el mayor de los orgullos porque no pude tener hijos biológicos.
Mi vida es un canto permanente a la educación y sólo una enfermedad en las cuerdas vocales me impidió seguir en las aulas sembrando amor y cultivando esperanzas: eso es lo que hace la educación.

Hello to all the members of this community. My name is Antonio Manuel Nápoles Rivero and I have been in this ecosystem that is Hive for a little over a month. I am pleased and honored to write in this community because I am a university graduate of this teaching career that I consider the mother of all professions, because it is the only one that creates several trades.
In the presentation I made for Hive I addressed some of the most important elements of my work and personal life and within them the work as a teacher has been decisive in my professional development.
In this first publication I would like to refer to my experience as a teacher during the 30 years I worked in the profession.
I never thought of myself as a teacher, that is the truth. I always told my mother that if I had to be a doctor or a teacher I would not study any more, because I wanted to be an engineer. I could not graduate as an engineer and I had to start working, to contribute to the economic support of my home. My mother told me that I had two options: Either I could work as a construction helper or I could start as a teacher, but since I did not want to be a teacher, I had to tell her my last word. It was 1986 and I was 19 years old. That was the beginning of my adventure in this beautiful and sacrificed world that is education in the subject of Geography. During all the years that I worked in education (1986-2017) I worked in almost all the teachings and occupied different responsibilities. My time in education I have it in two stages: the first from 1986 to 2003 and the second from 2003 to 2017.
In the first stage I worked in basic secondary, pre-university and polytechnic education. In this stage I was a teacher, head of department, deputy head teacher, deputy head of boarding school and school principal.
In the second stage I worked as director of a university branch and taught undergraduate and graduate courses.
It was in education where I had my greatest personal and professional growth and which has allowed me to reach my current job, as director of Knowledge Management at the Institute of Geology and Paleontology, Geological Survey of Cuba.
In education, I achieved an integral general culture so necessary to satisfy the concerns of students and to be able to teach better classes. Thanks to this profession I was able to improve myself until I obtained a degree in Education, specializing in Geography and a postgraduate specialization in Psychopedagogy. Being in education I was able to represent my country abroad and meet the beautiful Venezuela and in one of the schools I went through I met my wife with whom I am celebrating my 25th birthday this year.
All of the above has been good in my life, but the greatest thing has been and is the recognition of those who were my students, to see them become good men and women, as doctors, engineers, technicians, workers, teachers. I have some of these students that I was able to teach them in high school and later graduate with a degree in Education and they have told me that they became teachers by the force of my example. That has been one of my greatest treasures in this profession. The other is that many of my students call me father, which is the greatest pride because I could not have biological children.

My life is a permanent song to education and only an illness in my vocal cords prevented me from continuing in the classroom sowing love and cultivating hope: that is what education does.
