A necessary introduction
My wife and I just celebrated 26 years of marriage. As I have always said, we never planned how long this relationship would last, what we have done is nurture it day by day. There have been many congratulations that we have received from our friends and from other people in our social environment and who have predicted that we will reach our golden anniversary, or what is the same as 50 years of marriage.
Of all the people who congratulated us, there is one who gave us a very special gift and who is the subject of this investigation.
The invitation
Before our anniversary, this mutual friend had invited us to spend a weekend at her house. There were many reasons that encouraged her to make this invitation because, in addition to being a friend of my wife since junior high school, she had many things to tell us about her life and her family.
What we didn't know is that behind that invitation there was a marked intention: Give us an anniversary gift.
We arrived at his house and we marveled at how pretty he has made it. As we settled into the room where we would rest, he made us a delicious coffee that we were extremely grateful for because we are lovers of this delicious drink.
While we were enjoying the coffee, the two women began to catch up and our friend began to explain the latest events in her life, ranging from her family care to a new romantic relationship that was about to materialize.
At the moment she asked about the new poem I had given to my wife and I had to read it to her because she is a fan of them. I will quickly tell you that it is a detail that I have to give a poem to my wife on special dates such as the Day of Love or anniversary days. He says that things like these are what have allowed our relationship to have so much life and so much love.
The gift
After this moment he asked us to accompany him to buy something for dinner. We were far from imagining what he had planned. We walked out and arrived at a place where she stayed talking to a person and that person invited us to come to the place. When we entered we were wondering what we were doing there. She told us that this was her anniversary gift.
It turns out that he had invited us to eat at a buffet table that for us was a luxury due to the high prices of food in our country and because he did not allow us to pay a single cent.
The gift place
The place in question is called 3 XL and it had food of all kinds and for the most demanding palates because they offered meats, salads, different types of rice, fish, pasta, soft drinks, sweets, ice cream and much more.
The place also offered beers of different types that served to liven up the celebration.
After dinner and thanking our friend for that edible and beautiful detail, we left the place and returned to her house where we finished spending the day.
A final comment
Life has rewarded me with many important things in my life and my wife has been one of the best things that has happened to me in my life. In the same way, my family and my friends have been key pieces in this adventure called life and enjoying it with all intensity is one of the essential objectives in my life. For that reason and more I value the surprise and the gift given by our friend and which had as the perfect pretext the 26th anniversary of our relationship.
