The events begin after James returns from Africa to London to attend his father's funeral and receive his share of the inheritance.
Finds that his legacy is a land on the west coast of the United States and is located in a conflict zone between the US government and the British government.
James later discovers that his non-sister, Zilva, owns half the land and has agreed with East India to sell it.
Another woman named Lorna appears to have married James' father and also has a share of the inheritance.
James is breaking the deal with East India because he believes the land will rise after the end of the war between Britain and the United States.
He is subjected to an attempted assassination of the company but he survives, and to protect himself he writes a will that his share of the land moves to the US government after his death.
James, his brother and Lorna are in the middle of a conflict between the company and the British government and the US government because of the land.
Another attempt at assassination suggests that he too survives and decides to escape with Lorna and some of their friends.
He discovers that his sister Zilva committed suicide before they could escape.
During the last episode after the group was able to escape from several machinations embalmed by East India and the British government running aboard a ship to the United States.
تبدأ الأحداث بعد أن يعود جيمس من أفريقيا إلى لندن من أجل حضور مراسم دفن والده و يحصل على نصيبه من الميراث.
يكتشف أنَّ ميراثه هو عبارة عن أرض على الساحل الغربي من الولايات المتحدة و تقع في منطقة نزاع بين الحكومة الأمريكية و الحكومة البريطانية.
يكتشف جيمس لاحقا بأنَّ أخته الغير شقيقة و التي تدعى زيلفا تمتلك نصف الأرض و قد اتفقت مع شركة شرق الهند على بيعها.
تظهر امرأة اخرى تدعى لورنا و التي يتبين بأنَّها زوجت والد جيمس و لها أيضا نصيب من الميراث.
يقوم جيمس بفسخ الاتفاق مع شركة شرق الهند و ذلك بسبب اعتقاده بأنَّ الأرض سوف يرتفع سعرها بعد انتهاء الحرب بين بريطانيا و الولايات المتحدة.
يتعرض لمحاولة اغتيال مدبرة من الشركة ولكنه ينجو، وليحمي نفسه يقوم بكتابة وصية بأنَّ نصيبه من الأرض ينتقل للحكومة الأمريكية بعد وفاته.
يقع جيمس وشقيقه ولورنا خلال أحداث الفيلم في وسط صراع بين الشركة و الحكومة البريطانية و الحكومة الأمريكية بسبب الأرض.
يتعرض لمحاول اغتيال أخرى إلى أنه ينجو منها أيضا ويقرر الهرب مع لورنا و بعض اصداقائهم.
يكتشف بأنّ شقيقته زيلفا اقدمت على الانتحار قبل أن يتمكنوا من الهرب.
خلال الحلقة الأخيرة بعد أن تتمكن المجموعة من النجاة من عدة مكائد حاكتها شركة شرق الهند و الحكومة البريطانية يهربون على متن أحد السفن إلى الولايات المتحدة.
