I want you to understand something, that something is that I completely understand why you're concerned and I actually share most of your concerns. The one thing we're not seeing eye to eye on, and you know this because you noticed how I brought up a very personal story to help you understand my view on it, is that peer pressure shouldn't be underestimated.

But this pressure is without threatening consequences as long as there is no official permission to punish someone

In reality governments have permission to do zero, nothing. They do as much as we allow. Understanding this, it can be worrisome for me, as it is for you, when certain feelings or ideological positions take over the masses.

The same peer pressure that could take people to allow and even demand regulation over reproduction, the thing that concerns you, is the same peer pressure that I have seen lead doctors to refuse treatment of cancer because the sick woman was pregnant. This actually happened! The mother was sick, she was raped, the cancer treatment would had killed the fetus so next thing we knew a whole country was up in controversy actually discussing something completely ilogical.

How is the child going to live if the mother won't make it? This is logic! But peer pressure doesn't acknowledge any logic...so much so that the government in this country actually asked the catholic church whether they could allow the doctors to provide treatment for this woman. I don't have tell you what happened...

You're probably thinking, again, that could never happen in Germany so why should I care? But I'm not from Germany, I respond to my reality, and my reality so far has been I've seen tremendous pressure for people to have kids with dire emotional and financial consequences for parties not even involved in the making of the child.

It is a personal decision, I completely agree, and it should remain a personal decision. But to be a decision in the first place you need to have choice, and those choices not only include information such as what VHETM provides, but also the choice of not facing social consequences (yes, I know people will have opinions regardless).

About a week ago one of my sisters, one of the ones I haven't yet met, she was dying. I almost didn't find out about it either. She needed blood so after all these years I contacted my father once again just to ask what the blood type was and where I could have others, not even me, go and donate to save my sister. He never replied, an innocent 15-year-old girl could have died because her father thinks that society will believe he's bad person if he associates with me in any way and mistreat him in response.

Respectfully, ma'am, peer pressure might just be the biggest challenge humanity, people, the world, is currently facing.
