Self-improvement is endless process. Change is inevitable. If you want your future to be better, you should do stuff that will improve you in some way - physical, emotional, spiritual, financial, social and so on. In general there is no normal and conscious person that would like to suffer in the future. In the core everybody wants the good life. But Everybody understands it differently and is doing it or maybe planning to do it in the future on his own way - things like watching TV, travel, going to the beach or constantly reading, studying, experimenting with new stuff and so on.

 Today there is a whole industry that is riding this desire for improvement. I have gone through it for some time now. I even played one small part in process with my own creations. But, in general, for the last year or so a have realized that I need to get out of this "Waterloo". I have done what is necessary to decrease, minimize, unfollow or ignore as much as I can - the noise I get from the social platforms, the e-mails and real world events. The reasons I give for the use of the tools or my presence in events has changed.

My time in the self-improvement wheel has shown me that there are several core principles:

  • Define purpose; Be optimist and trust that your goals are possible;
  • Find other people that have the same drive so you can help one another;
  • Do more, be enthusiastic, proactive, direct as much as you can your habits to your end goal;
  • Be conscious and control as much as you can your attention, time and money;

If you start following the self-improvement gurus, coaches and entrepreneurs, they will never stop to push content into your head. Every single principle can be "dressed" in endless variations - pictures, text, video, audio, games and so on. They are repeating their stuff like mantras - attention, million, email, social media and so on. They are paying to employees to create this content and if you think improving is to read yet another book, or watch yet another video, attend to yet another seminar (with the purpose to self-improve) you will never get out of the wheel of the hamster.

If you do some of the instruction of some particular guru, the chance that you will fail is almost certain. If you ask the guru, he will find the reasons you failed. Reasons can be always made up because the world is not black and white. The world has million colors, shapes and forms that make it wonderful to explore. And so you will continue on the rail an you will probably attend or buy the next package to continue to improve. And that is what is desired of you.

Instead just do. Realize that there is no shortcut. Realize that how good you are is an illusion, subjective personal perception. Also there is no perfection as it also depends on the point of view of a person. The best experience in life that you can be 99.99% sure that is valid (and not only in terms of self-improvement) is your own memory, your own past, the things that you have done and saw with your own eyes.
