Constant everyday news - that happen somewhere far away that may affect you, but in most cases will not, and you get absorbed not only during the news, but during conversations with neighbors, friends and relatives. Or maybe something some famous person or a politician said. In most cases you feel hurt, you share but in reality nothing happens in terms of law or in terms of actions. One individual leaves the childhood and becomes grown when he takes responsibility and understands that for everything that he wants - there must be some action taken from his side or from a person under his influence.
The cool new opportunity that will make you unimaginably rich and successful. Maybe, but in most cases it will not. The most valuable things are those that retain or increase in value over time. Somebody cool idea may look sexy, but for how long? How many people will think it is sexy after 10 years when people change, when the technology advances and there is no need for product or service X?
Long term thinking here will help. Some of the people keep their eggs in the same basket after 10-20 and even more years. You don't become good in something with one month of practice. Finding something that is fun and pays up in long term is hard but if everything in life was easy it wouldn't be as enjoyable when you actually find it.
