32 They were amazed at his teaching, because his words had authority.

I sense a message related to authority in this verse, Dad.

I understand that you expect from me an attitude equal to that of Jesus, a word given with authority; That is, to teach your doctrine firmly and well testimony so that I can properly exercise my authority.

I also understand that if I myself do not believe that I have the authority delegated by you, I will not be able to prove it to others.

I pretend that the application of this depends on changing my old habit of wanting to adorn everything I say to please men, then start a new habit of speaking with your word by demonstrating your unadorned authority.
