There was an old man. He would wake up every day before the Fajr prayer. He would slowly perform ablution, pray Tahajjud, and then raise his hands and cry for a long time. It was as if his prayers did not want to end.
His little grandson would see this scene every day after waking up. One day, unable to control his curiosity, he went to his grandfather and asked,
"Grandpa, who do you talk to for so long every day?"
Grandpa smiled and said, "With Allah."
The grandson asked again,
"Does Allah listen to you?"
Grandpa's eyes suddenly became wet. He placed his hand on his grandson's head and said,
"Not only does he listen, Grandpa, he also answers. However, not all answers are heard with the ears. Some answers come as peace in the heart, some answers come as protection from dangers that we never realize. And some answers come many years later, which we do not see right away."
The little grandson did not fully understand the words. But the peace of his grandfather's voice remained somewhere in his little heart.
Time does not stop for anyone. After a few years, according to the law of nature, his grandfather left this world.
The little boy also grew up.
In the hustle and bustle of life, studies, work, and family, prayers gradually decreased, prayers decreased. That conversation with Allah also seemed to be lost.
Then one day, the most difficult time in his life came.
Big losses in business. Mother in the hospital. Those he considered close to him, one by one, moved away.
Night after night, he could not sleep. Only one question kept swirling in his heart: "Why is this happening to me?"
Late that night, he suddenly remembered his grandfather.
After many years, he performed ablution. He laid out the funeral prayer mat and put his head in prostration.
But he could not find any words to pray.
After a long silence, he could only say one thing:
"Oh Allah... I don't know what to ask for. All I know is that I can't do it anymore. I have no one else but you."
As soon as he said this, tears started flowing from his eyes.
No miracle happened that night.
The bank loan was not forgiven.
His mother's illness did not get better immediately.
The problems did not end overnight either.
But as soon as he raised his head from prostration, he felt
an invisible weight inside his chest lighten.
It felt like someone was silently hugging him after many days and saying
"I am here."
That day he understood...
Grandpa was right.
Allah always answers.
Sometimes by removing the problem, and sometimes by pouring such patience and peace into the heart of his servant in the midst of the problem that no human can give.
That day he also understood another truth
A person who finds Allah, actually loses nothing.
And a person who loses Allah,
even after getting everything, remains destitute inside.
So...
If you are in great pain today,
If you feel like no one understands you,
If you feel like there is no one in the world to hear your cry
Then go to prostration tonight.
You don't have to tell anyone.
Just say;
"Oh Allah... I can't take it anymore. I have no one else but You."
Maybe the tears won't stop right away.
Maybe the problems won't go away right away.
But believe me...
The heart that learns to cry at the door of Allah, no storm in the world can completely break it.
Because the doors of people will close one day.
People's hands will let go at some point.
But the doors of the Merciful Lord will never close.
"And when My servants ask you about Me, then say, 'I am indeed near. I respond to the call of those who call upon Me.'"
— Surah Al-Baqarah, 2:186
