Automated vehicles are not far future, it is only time of 10 or 15 years. Problem which occurs in today's society is 'sociological problem'. How to let the vehicle drives you alone, without paying attention on the road and situation around the road. We all know and have experience that the best technology can block sometimes, it is technology and sometimes you buy new laptop and you have to restart it because it freezes acidently.
Other problem with is that they don't have common sense as humans.

Yes i agree that this is a problem but who can be sure with 100% that he would proceed with correct input and which is correct input? In that milisecond you can't know that, we still dont know it, people can argue about this situation for 2 days and don't conclude anything.
On the other hand you have this video that proves absolutely life saving manoevre. Car predicts accidents before it happened alert the driver and avoid it.

Tesla electric car which is level 3 automated vehicle. Some studies predicts level 5 cars will be in 2020, which is basically car that drives you alone. Imagine car which is connected to your google calendar and he knows when you must be at work he picks you up at home calculate trip time, drives you to the work, and picks you up from work and drive home.
I opened this theme because i think this is not far future. We can discuss about pros and cons, if anyone have any questions i will be glad to answer :)
