Right on. Your comments on religion are exactly why it is a source of both great good and great evil. Of course, this applies to any faith-based thinking, since faith, by definition, is belief without evidence. We see similar thinking when it comes to trickle down economics, where people put faith in economic theories that are well-reasoned in abstract, but for which there is little real evidence.
